Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Library and Information Science, Archival Studies, Documentation, or related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in archival management, cataloguing, or documentation
  • Knowledge of international cataloguing and archival standards (e.g., ISAD(G), MARC 21, Dublin Core)
  • Experience with digital repositories and library management systems (e.g., TIND, Invenio, or similar) is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of French is an asset

Tasks

  • Support comprehensive overview of uncatalogued collections
  • Catalogue and classify collections using international standards
  • Prioritize materials for digitization
  • Ensure accessibility and usability of digitized materials
  • Prepare and organize archival materials for relocation
  • Document archival materials for safe relocation
  • Maintain integrity and traceability of collections
  • Update inventory lists of uncatalogued materials
  • Label physical and digital records
  • Handle and organize archival materials
  • Retrieve, move, and re-shelve boxes and files
  • Identify and process records for disposal
  • Coordinate records disposal with stakeholders
  • Handle and prepare records for storage or destruction
  • Oversee secure physical destruction of records
  • Facilitate researcher access to archival materials
  • Improve usability and accessibility of collections
  • Identify high-priority materials for digitization
  • Enhance access and discoverability of digitized content
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to reporting and documentation
  • Monitor progress of assigned tasks
  • Perform other related duties
