Requirements
- •Ability to analyze user-requirements and web application lifecycle
- •Experience with PaaS and container-based deployment
- •Practical experience with test-driven software development
- •Knowledge of web services and API design
- •Knowledge of modern ML/AI models and tools
- •Experience with particle physics or detector R&D
- •Knowledge of Python 3.x, Django, and adjacent technologies
- •Essential competency in using GitLab for version control
- •Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle
- •Familiarity with Docker or OpenShift container implementations
- •Proficiency in HTML and XML UI templates
- •Shell scripting and Linux-based DevOps capabilities
- •Knowledge of motor control hardware or gamma spectrometry
- •Spoken and written English and commitment to learn French
- •National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- •Professional background in Software Engineering or related field
- •No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract

Tasks
- •Maintain and optimize software tools for irradiation facilities
- •Harmonize individual tools to increase data model synergies
- •Reuse programming code and software infrastructure across platforms
- •Investigate ML and NLP opportunities for tool optimization
- •Adapt software tools based on facility coordinator feedback
- •Assist with operating IRRAD and RADNEXT data portals
- •Provide technical interfaces for seamless information flow
- •Support beam instrumentation DAQ and control systems
- •Develop operational pages using WRAP technology
- •Interface with accelerator teams to build back-end servers
- •Improve long-term sustainability of the software platform
- •Integrate tools within the CERN IT service structure
- •Organize all aspects of deployment and scalability
- •Ensure reliable operation of infrastructure-based IT services
