As a Boarding House Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students' well-being and personal growth by providing emotional guidance, fostering a positive community, and actively participating in various activities to enhance their boarding experience.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people
- Positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English; knowledge of French is an asset
- Enthusiasm for boarding life and participation in activities
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents
- Driving license preferred; driving duties integral
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Energetic, enthusiastic, team player; resistant to pressure
- Awareness of Child Protection guidelines
- Understanding of diversity and inclusion
- Background investigations and reference checks for past ten years
Tasks
- Act as a trusted point of contact for students
- Offer emotional support and practical guidance
- Collaborate with House Parents and the Health Centre
- Foster a positive and inclusive house environment
- Promote teamwork, respect, and responsibility
- Encourage student engagement in house activities
- Participate in a range of student activities and excursions
- Support evening, weekend, and holiday activity schedules
- Assist with daily operations of the house
- Supervise meals and oversee laundry
- Support student wake-up and bedtime routines
- Ensure the house environment is clean and organized
- Maintain accurate record-keeping for attendance
- Conduct student check-ins and other administrative tasks
- Contribute to student progress reports
- Monitor student whereabouts and adherence to curfews
- Follow protocols for missing students and emergencies
- Demonstrate empathy, patience, and integrity
- Support students from diverse cultural backgrounds
