Asset Dispatch Operations Engineer(m/w/x)

Requirements

• 10+ years of work experience in power production, utility, or trading environment
• Knowledge of energy markets (preferable)
• Expertise in Asset Dispatch functional and technical configuration
• Expertise in Power systems, generation dispatch (market-based, real-time), and AGC logic
• Advanced knowledge in SCADA within a dispatch environment
• Experience developing interfaces to 3rd party systems (Python, Java)
• Advanced knowledge of communication protocols (DNP3, IEC104, Modbus, OPC, ICCP)
• Capacity for packet-level troubleshooting and data flow analysis
• Working knowledge of Virtualization
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (routing, firewalls, certificates)
• Working knowledge of Linux servers
• Working knowledge of Windows servers
• Solid expertise in incident management under high-pressure/real-time environments
• Clear, structured communication with operators and external stakeholders
• Experience working under SLAs and escalation procedures
• Experience working with external service providers (delivery follow-up, contract management)
• Degree level education or equivalent in business, computer science, or similar technology/engineering discipline
• Fluent English
• Competency in French (advantageous)
• Knowledge of Aspentech DGM Asset Dispatch solution (plus)

Tasks

• Manage the asset dispatch and control layer.
• Integrate with market operators and TSOs/ISOs.
• Ensure technical correctness of Asset Dispatch solutions.
• Manage the evolution of Asset Dispatch solutions.
• Ensure long-term reliability of Asset Dispatch solutions.
• Extend, adapt, and improve Asset Dispatch solutions.
• Contribute to ongoing change programs.
• Ensure market compliance.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support (weekly rotation).
• Support and troubleshoot Asset Dispatch configurations.
• Perform advanced root cause analysis.
• Act as primary technical authority during incidents.
• Troubleshoot generation dispatch issues.
• Troubleshoot SCADA and AGC behavior.
• Troubleshoot market instructions and TSO communications.
• Implement and validate configuration changes.
• Support ICCP-based integrations with TSOs.
• Diagnose ICCP model mismatches and data quality.
• Diagnose ICCP timing and connectivity issues.
• Distinguish market from real-time operations.
• Troubleshoot industrial protocols (DNP3, IEC104, Modbus, OPC).
• Perform packet-level analysis to isolate issues.
• Interface with operators, dispatchers, and TSO contacts.
• Interface with infrastructure and network support providers.
• Interface with Asset Dispatch vendor support.
• Lead incident communication, escalation, and resolution.
• Identify and demonstrate issues outside Asset Dispatch solutions.
