Accounting Director/International Controller(m/w/x)

Description

In this hands-on leadership role, you will drive international finance operations and statutory compliance while scaling the company's European accounting structure and mentoring a growing team.

Requirements

• •Minimum 12 years multinational experience
• •Life science, biotech, or pharmaceuticals experience
• •Experience in international growth stage companies
• •Transfer pricing and international supply chain experience
• •Understanding of European statutory accounting requirements
• •Experience with European VAT and Intrastat
• •Management of external statutory accounting providers
• •Intercultural competence and multilingual ability
• •Hands-on mentality and broad responsibility willingness
• •Independent motivation and problem-solving ability
• •Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
• •Advanced financial systems knowledge
• •Knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS
• •Fluent English and other European languages
• •CPA or ACCA qualification
• •Experience with Oracle Financials or EPM

Tasks

• •Lead monthly US GAAP accounting closes
• •Ensure accurate financial statements for international subsidiaries
• •Manage US GAAP and local statutory accounting
• •Oversee Record-to-Report and Procure-to-Pay operations
• •Direct Order-to-Cash and payroll for European subsidiaries
• •Coordinate revenue recognition and inventory with US teams
• •Own the balance sheet reconciliation process
• •Manage external audit firms for annual audits
• •Supervise day-to-day activities of external service providers
• •Collaborate with FP&A on budget reporting and accruals
• •Maintain internal controls for J-SOX and FCPA compliance
• •Partner with HQ on global reporting requests
• •Lead local statutory account preparation
• •Manage VAT, Intrastat, and income tax filings
• •Support OECD Pillar 2 filings for the region
• •Direct yearly Transfer Pricing documentation
• •Oversee all intercompany transactions
• •Provide finance support for international product launches
• •Implement continuous system and process improvements
• •Evolve financial policies with the US finance team
• •Lead and develop the international accounting team
• •Design and build the European accounting function
