Requirements

  • First-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in economics, international relations, engineering or related field
  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) or Doctorate in same fields accepted with reduced experience requirement
  • Minimum professional experience aligned with educational level
  • First-level university degree (Bachelor’s): at least 6 years relevant professional experience
  • Advanced university degree (Master’s): at least 3 years relevant professional experience
  • Doctorate: at least 1 year relevant professional experience
  • Working experience, including international level, in project execution or coordination
  • Experience evaluating needs, conditions, problems in developing countries, and technical cooperation projects desirable
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment
  • Experience working with GEF-funded programmes desirable
  • Experience working with UN agencies and/or international organizations desirable
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
  • Working knowledge of another official UN language desirable

Tasks

  • Formulate and execute technical cooperation projects
  • Ensure timely and efficient project delivery
  • Prepare consultant job descriptions and terms of reference
  • Organize training and key project meetings
  • Monitor and report project progress
  • Conduct field and headquarters oversight meetings
  • Assist in project evaluations
  • Support advocacy and knowledge management activities
  • Prepare promotional materials
  • Organize media events
  • Disseminate project information
  • Support fund mobilization activities
  • Engage with stakeholders
  • Coordinate with donors and partner agencies
  • Perform other related duties
