Turbopump Rotordynamics Engineer(m/w/x)

Anforderungen

• Master's degree, Bachelor with honors, or Bachelor's with substantial experience
• 3-5 years experience with fast rotating machinery
• Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics and mechanical design
• Strong fundamentals of machine dynamics and rotordynamics
• Strong knowledge about bearings and rolling elements
• Good knowledge of materials
• Understanding of manufacturing methods and constraints
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software and drafting
• Experience writing software or scripts in Python
• Optional hands-on experience developing hardware prototypes
• Strong ability to collaborate with others
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
• Strong research and information inference skills

Aufgaben

• Make and document consequential turbomachinery design decisions
• Collaborate with development engineers to refine and validate designs
• Execute and review various turbopump architectural trades
• Perform rotordynamics analyses to inform cryogenic pump specifications
• Design and procure cryogenic pump components based on best practices
• Supervise external subcontractors and communicate with suppliers
• Model geometric and mechanical problems analytically
• Implement technical solutions into programs
