- PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or related field
- At least three years of experience with cell-based assay development reflecting molecule's mode of action
- Skilled in cell culture and fundamental molecular biology techniques
- Experience with plasmid/protein design for desired purposes
- Experience with methods for detecting proteins of interest
- Experience with methods to measure protein/protein interactions
- Experience with generation of stably transfected cells
- Experience with reporter gene assays
- Strong experience in analyzing and presenting data

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Lead the design and development of cell-based assay formats
- Develop innovative assay formats for Botulinum Neurotoxins
- Characterize Botulinum Neurotoxins using cell-based assays
- Perform quality control of Botulinum Neurotoxins using cell-based assays
- Develop assays that represent the mechanism of action of neurotoxins
- Perform targeted genetic modification of neuronal cells
- Work in cross-functional teams with colleagues
- Collaborate with colleagues from adjacent groups
- Collaborate with colleagues at global AbbVie sites
- Follow the technological landscape in potency assays
- Follow the technological landscape in binding assays
