- MSc or PhD in optical engineering, physics, or related field
- Hands-on experience with advanced optical systems

Aufgaben
- Design mechanical, optical, and electronic components for custom light microscopes
- Construct, align, and adapt microscopy setups for life science applications
- Develop and maintain hardware control and data acquisition software
- Automate imaging workflows and post-processing pipelines
- Maintain and develop the group's codebase and GitHub repositories
- Provide cluster computing support for data analysis
- Program and customize computational data analysis packages
- Perform three-dimensional visualization and quantitative analysis of imaging data
- Design custom optomechanical components using CAD
- Collaborate with biologists and workshops on microscope usability
- Develop custom sample mounts and environmental controls
- Conduct technology watch for hardware and software advancements
- Train students and postdoctoral fellows on microscopy techniques
- Provide technical assistance to group members
- Represent the lab in the Cell Biology and Biophysics Unit's lab manager network
- Participate in joint weekly meetings
- Contribute to cross-unit technical coordination
- Organize lab supplies and equipment orders
- Maintain lab databases
- Oversee laser and chemical safety protocols
