Anforderungen
- Experience or strong interest in metadata management
- Completion of in-depth cataloguing coursework
- Familiarity with or interest in digital repositories and library systems
- Interest in library services and user-facing information support
- Strong knowledge of cataloguing standards and bibliographic formats (RDA, MARC21, DataCite)
- Familiarity with structured metadata formats (JSON, XML) is an asset
- Good organizational skills and accurate work following procedures
- Willingness to contribute to Library and Archives activities
- Good communication skills and effective user interaction
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Spoken and written English, commitment to learn French
- Maximum two years professional experience since graduation in Library & Information Science or related field
- Highest educational qualification is Bachelor's or Master's degree
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- University degree required
Aufgaben
- Catalogue scientific articles, preprints, conference papers, theses, and other document types
- Use JSON and MARC formats for cataloguing
- Review and update existing records for accuracy, consistency, and quality
- Maintain and document cataloguing and curation procedures
- Analyse cataloguing practices and propose improvements
- Participate in the migration to a new institutional repository
- Clean, harmonise, and improve metadata
- Identify and resolve metadata issues for correct content migration
- Contribute to defining requirements and specifications for migration
- Support researchers at the Library service desk
- Participate in Archives re-boxing activities
- Perform additional tasks related to Library and Archives operations
