Anforderungen
- Knowledge of beam dynamics in synchrotrons or storage rings
- Experience with key beam dynamics effects (transverse coupling, beam-beam interactions, synchrotron radiation, beam impedance)
- Experience in particle tracking simulations
- Experience with accelerator physics simulation and analysis tools
- Experience running large-scale simulations on HPC systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to present technical and scientific results clearly
- Spoken and written English
- Commitment to learn French
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Master's degree with 2-6 years post-graduation experience
- PhD with no more than 3 years post-graduation experience
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
Aufgaben
- Contribute to a proposal for a future collider's design, optimization, and performance evaluation.
- Develop beam optics and perform beam dynamics simulations.
- Study key effects like synchrotron radiation, beam-beam interactions, and impedance.
- Contribute to the conceptual design phase of the study.
- Support the development and assessment of the collider design.
- Propose optimizations for linear and nonlinear beam optics, tune scans, dynamic aperture, and collider parameters to maximize performance and robustness.
- Perform particle tracking studies across the energy range, including beam-beam interactions, synchrotron radiation, and impedance.
- Investigate key accelerator physics challenges, drawing on FCC-ee study experience.
