Anforderungen

  • HTL Matura plus relevant professional experience or equivalent education with focus on physics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, aerospace engineering, computer science
  • Very good English knowledge (C1 or higher)
  • Experience with 3D printing and CAD programs
  • Advanced computer/IT skills (troubleshooting, Windows administration)
  • Reliable, regular presence in laboratory on site in Vienna
  • Willingness to travel for measurement campaigns internationally
  • Willingness and ability to participate in research flights and operate instruments onboard
  • Class B driving licence
  • Teamwork and contribution of expertise
  • Structured, goal-driven approach and ability to work independently
  • Practical experience in setting up and operating technical laboratory infrastructure, particularly sampling line systems, and with relevant component and ordering catalogs (e.g., Swagelok)
  • Knowledge of aerosol physics and experience with measurement campaigns (aircraft field experiments) is an advantage
  • Interest in programming (Python, C, microcontrollers)
  • Basic knowledge of electronics is an asset
  • Knowledge of German, or willingness to acquire it, is an advantage
  • Flexibility and ability to improvise
  • Goal-oriented, self-reliant, structured, forward-looking work manner
  • Enjoyment of actively shaping technical solutions and performing tasks accurately
  • Team player with strong social and communication skills

Aufgaben

  • Support scientists with assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Build and modify laboratory and calibration setups
  • Cut, bend, and assemble sampling systems
  • Design and 3D-print parts for measuring instruments and calibration setups
  • Support laboratory operations, including calibration and maintenance
  • Manage spare parts, stock, and consumables
  • Order and manage consumables
  • Support the aerosol group with IT tasks
  • Install, calibrate, and operate aerosol measurement instruments on research aircraft
  • Install, calibrate, and operate ground-based aerosol measurement facilities
  • Prepare for (aircraft) measurement campaigns
  • Conduct (aircraft) measurement campaigns domestically and abroad
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Create certification documents for aircraft measurements
