Radiation Protection Physicist(m/w/x)
Optimizing designs for the FCC Project and calculating public radiation doses at European nuclear research organization. Solid foundation in nuclear/radiation physics and ICRP framework essential. 30 days paid leave, plus family/child allowances.
Anforderungen
- Master's degree or PhD or equivalent relevant experience in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related field
- Solid foundation in nuclear and/or radiation physics
- Proven experience in radiological environmental impact assessments, or ability to master rapidly
- Familiarity with ICRP radiation protection framework
- Proficiency in C++ or Python, or capacity to acquire expertise
- Advantageous: Experience with high-performance computing and Linux
- Advantageous: Experience with Monte-Carlo particle transport codes and/or radiation environmental impact codes
- Environmental protection: assessment of radiation environments, external doses calculation
- Knowledge and application of ionising radiation instrumentation and measurement techniques
- Knowledge of dosimetry in mixed radiation fields
- Study of radiation protection design
- Knowledge of regulatory framework and best practice in radiation protection, environmental radiation protection, national/European legislation
- Teamwork skills
- Structured and organised approach, priority setting, results-oriented planning
- Effective communication
- Continuous learning and knowledge sharing
- Spoken and written English, commitment to learn French
- Work in Radiation Areas
- Interventions in underground installations
- Valid driving licence
Aufgaben
- Assess and enforce compliance with Radiation Protection regulations.
- Conduct studies and optimize designs for the FCC Project.
- Monitor project developments for radiation protection.
- Calculate public radiation doses using established models.
- Lead or participate in RP research and development.
- Develop, use, and maintain radiological assessment models and tools.
- Produce and edit legal, technical, and scientific documentation.
- Provide expertise on radiation protection for future accelerators.
- Advise on environmental aspects of future experiments.
- Present assessments to host state authorities.
- Supervise and coordinate postdocs and students.
