Anforderungen

  • •Ongoing master's studies in automation & control, technical mathematics, technical informatics, or comparable technical field
  • •Excellent knowledge in optimization
  • •Excellent knowledge of Matlab and Python
  • •Excellent technical understanding and analytical capabilities
  • •Enjoyment of application-oriented questions of industry
  • •High level of commitment and team spirit
  • •Good knowledge of German and/or English in word and writing

Laufendes Studium

Aufgaben

  • •Conduct a comprehensive literature review of known solution methods and available solvers
  • •Define an optimal control problem using an existing state-space model of the processing line
  • •Choose or develop an algorithm for solving the defined control problem
  • •Evaluate the algorithm based on reasonable performance metrics
  • •Test the solution algorithm through closed-loop simulations of an MPC tracking control strategy for strip temperature
  • •Implement the testing using Matlab
  • •Engage in scientific work training and discussions with interdisciplinary experts in mathematics, informatics, physics, control, and mechanical engineering
