- PhD or Master's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Hands-on laboratory experience in upstream processing
- Experience with fermentation, microbial cultivation, bioreactor operation, media development, and process scale-up
- Knowledge in separator operation, enzyme kinetics, and protein folding (beneficial)
- Experience with cGMP environments
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE)
- Experience with process modeling
- Experience with PAT (Process Analytical Technology)
- Experience with advanced process control systems
- Analytics expertise: HPLC, enzyme assays, gel electrophoresis, and microbiological analytical methods
- Strong scientific skills
- Ability to work across cultures
- Ability to bridge technical, manufacturing, engineering, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Fluency in German (verbal and written)
- Chinese language skills (advantageous)
Aufgaben
- Develop and optimize upstream bioprocesses
- Transfer bioprocesses for new insulin facility
- Implement fermentation and microbial cultivation
- Prepare media and manage cell banking
- Optimize separator technologies and centrifugation
- Enhance product recovery processes
- Drive scale-up and process characterization
- Troubleshoot and support manufacturing start-up
- Participate in technology transfer activities
- Generate process transfer documentation
- Develop regulatory submission documents
- Support process validations globally
- Establish laboratory infrastructure
- Equip laboratory for process development
- Provide technical input to regulatory dossiers
- Respond to authority questions
- Represent upstream processing in audits
- Inspect and ensure compliance
- Act as MSAT technical liaison
- Share expertise across global teams
