Implementing and optimizing highly dynamic control methods for electric drives on cRIO hardware. Theoretical background in electric drives and motor control required. Intern remuneration, scope to try things out.
Anforderungen
- Enrollment in Master's program (Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related)
- Theoretical background in electric drives and motor control
- Familiarity with AC motor control techniques (field-oriented, direct torque control)
- Hands-on experience with SynRM or PMSM motors (desirable)
- Practical experience with MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, or Python for real-time control
- Experience with LabView or cRIO controllers (plus)
- Fundamental understanding of power electronics (inverter operation, PWM, current sensing)
- Hands-on experience with laboratory setups (electrical machines, power electronics, drive systems)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to present technical results clearly (written and spoken English)
Aufgaben
- Conduct literature review on dynamic control methods
- Identify advantages and disadvantages of control methods
- Select and prioritize control methods for implementation
- Optimize and benchmark selected control methods through simulation
- Implement control methods using cRIO hardware and LabView
- Review and update existing test platform hardware
- Design test set-up for validating dynamic drive controls
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance control concepts
- Document work and present findings to ABB stakeholders
