Product Engineer for optical instruments(m/w/x)

Requirements

• Degree in engineering or certified technician in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering, or comparable qualification
• At least three years of professional experience, ideally in production, project work, or development of technical devices or systems
• High quality standards, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
• Familiarity with common quality management methods and effective application to achieve quality objectives
• Well organized, independent, and results-oriented with a structured approach
• Enjoyment of interdisciplinary project work and achieving top results with a committed team
• Confident communication in spoken and written German and English

Tasks

• Supervise high-precision measuring instruments from prototype development to series production
• Ensure quality in series production and develop process improvement measures
• Collaborate with development, production, and quality assurance specialists
• Contribute experience from device manufacturing to product development projects
• Evaluate prototype parts, assemblies, and production processes for manufacturability and cost
• Conduct independent type and component testing and technical approvals
• Plan prototype construction and manage pre-series logistics
• Oversee series production and create necessary documentation and test plans
• Train relevant colleagues on production processes
• Analyze root causes of defects and develop measures for long-term product quality
• Implement series modifications and ensure compliance with standards
• Contribute to quality and cost efficiency through production optimization
• Conduct cost analyses and optimizations with development and production teams
• Qualify new suppliers for purchased components with purchasing and development teams
• Provide technical support and advice to production for technical inquiries
