Requirements

  • Enrolled student in Economics, Engineering, Energy and Resource Economics, Environmental Science, Mathematics or related fields
  • Strong analytical thinking and independent work ability
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Skills in Python data processing or modelling
  • Interest in energy markets, renewable fuels, and decarbonization technologies
  • First experience or strong interest in Energy system modelling
  • First experience or strong interest in Biofuels
  • First experience or strong interest in EU energy regulation (RED II/III, quotas, sustainability criteria)
  • Experience with techno-economic analyses (cost structures, yield calculations etc.)
  • Ability to translate complex technical content into clear insights
  • German proficiency is a plus

Tasks

  • Work with existing GHG quota model
  • Adapt model to RED III framework
  • Identify and integrate relevant data
  • Create automated data queries
  • Further develop and enhance model
  • Forecast key model drivers
  • Analyze sensitivities and scenarios
  • Conduct tailored analyses for biomethane and RFNBOs
  • Engage with commercial teams and stakeholders
  • Expand model to additional European countries
