Working Student - Machine Vision Marker Design(m/w/x)
Designing AI-powered surgical navigation markers and training detection models. Deep learning and Python/PyTorch/OpenCV expertise required. Hands-on medtech start-up experience, simulation OR, and creative zones.
Requirements
- Master’s program in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, or related field
- Programming skills in Python, Pytorch, OpenCV
- Proficient in software development: prototyping, coding, documentation
- Deep understanding of computer vision algorithms, deep learning technology, and image processing knowledge
- Experience using computer vision algorithms, training and validating deep Neural Networks
- Experience with popular object detection models, such as YOLO (plus)
- Good understanding of 3D Geometry (plus)
- Interest in medical technology, computer vision algorithms, and system accuracy
- Good communication skills in English; German is a bonus
- Motivated, curious, and eager to learn in high-tech, interdisciplinary environment
Tasks
- Support design of new tracker for surgical navigation software
- Study existing Computer Vision marker designs, including ArUco Markers
- Design and execute parameter studies to evaluate design choices
- Collect data and train detection models based on new design
- Conduct accuracy tests using novel tracking technologies for surgical navigation
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools using Python
- Analyze test results and improve tracking robustness and accuracy
- Collaborate with software engineers, robotics experts, and clinical stakeholders in agile Scrum environment
