Requirements
- Ongoing Master's or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or comparable technical-scientific field
- Knowledge in semiconductor material assembly and connection technology, or strong interest in this field
- First experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) or willingness to acquire this methodology
- Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment and openness to associated requirements and procedures
- High motivation for independent, practical experiment execution, results-oriented work, and creative problem-solving
- Very good German or English skills (written and spoken) for scientific communication
Tasks
- Conduct systematic literature and patent research on adhesive application and MEMS component pick-and-place.
- Select appropriate materials and identify relevant process parameters for reliable chip assembly.
- Develop an independent Design of Experiment (DoE) for chip assembly and plan the experimental approach.
- Perform assembly experiments in a cleanroom, characterize results, and evaluate process quality using suitable criteria.
- Document results scientifically and present them to the team.
- Integrate tasks into a master's or diploma thesis project.
