Requirements

  • Ongoing studies in natural or engineering sciences (e.g., materials science or physics)
  • Interest in material characterization, metallography, or microscopy
  • Reliable, conscientious, and structured work approach
  • Basic MS Office knowledge
  • First laboratory or microscopy experience (advantageous)
  • Very good English skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Sense of responsibility
  • Enjoyment of practical laboratory work

Tasks

  • Support the microscopy team
  • Perform metallographic and microscopic analyses
  • Conduct light and electron microscopy
  • Perform EDX analyses
  • Utilize other analytical methods
  • Prepare metallographic samples
  • Embed samples
  • Grind samples
  • Polish samples
  • Record basic microstructure features
  • Evaluate basic microstructure features
  • Assist with failure analysis
  • Perform preparatory work for failure analysis
  • Handle samples for failure analysis
  • Document failure analysis data
  • Contribute to introducing new methods
  • Contribute to maintaining new methods
  • Create technical documentation
  • Generate measurement tables
  • Perform routine evaluations
  • Create simple sample reports
  • Apply the quality management system
  • Apply ISO 9001
  • Apply ISO 17025

  • Currently in higher education
