VIE - Research Engineer Life Cycle Assessment(m/w/x)
Environmental impact assessment for industrial and health technologies using SimaPro, Gabi, or OpenLCA. Proven experience with SimaPro, Gabi, or OpenLCA required. International corporate program, focus on energy transition innovations.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Process, Chemical Engineering, Environmental or Natural Science (Must have)
- Specialization in Sustainability, Life Cycle Assessment, or Industrial Ecology (Nice-to-have)
- In-depth knowledge of chemical process engineering
- In-depth knowledge of LCA methodology (ISO 14040/14044)
- Proven experience in LCA using SimaPro, Gabi or OpenLCA
- Proven experience in Carbon Footprint calculation (ISO 14067, GHG Protocol)
- First practical experience in industry
- Familiarity with Renewable Energy Directive (RED)
- Understanding of RFNBO/RCF Delegated Acts
- Basic Python skills for data automation
- Familiarity with regulatory schemes (EU Taxonomy, CSRD, LCFS, ISCC)
- Knowledge of EoL allocation methods (e.g., Circular Footprint Formula)
- Professional appearance

- Ability to translate technical LCA results into business insights

- Ground environmental assessments in industrial reality
- Support transition to market-ready, certified solutions
- Assess environmental impact, risks, opportunities of innovations
- Assess Air Liquide technologies for internal requests
- Assess other technologies for external customer requests
- Collaborate with R&D and customers on environmental impact
- Contribute to decision-making for maximizing benefits
- Contribute to decision-making for limiting environmental footprint
- Contribute to decision-making for anticipating risks
