Vice President Internal Audit(m/w/x)
Leading internal audit for a sustainable chemicals and energy company, reporting directly to the Executive Board. 15+ years of international audit leadership experience required. Flexible working hours, home office, and relocation support.
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience in internal audit principles, practices, and standards
- Knowledge of modern digital tools and techniques
- High degree of personal integrity
- Minimum 15 years relevant professional experience
- Led multi-disciplinary teams in international environment
- Work experience in main auditing companies is an advantage
- Experience in highly structured multi-cultural environment
- Solid understanding of organization's broader business imperatives
- Master’s degree in information technology, business administration, finance, engineering or economics
- Evidence of appropriate training in audit area is an asset
- Austrian or international professional qualification (StB, WP, RA, ACCa, CPA, CIA, CFE or equivalent)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills in German
- Excellent communication skills in English
- International exposure
Tasks
- Lead a team of 15 experts
- Report to the Executive Board and Audit Committee
- Maintain regular dialogue with Board members
- Foster a culture of growth, feedback, and collaboration
- Role-model Transformational Leadership Competencies
- Define and evolve the Group Internal Audit strategy
- Align Internal Audit strategy with OMV Group strategy
- Develop a modern, future-ready audit organization
- Build strong finance, governance, digital, IT, and AI capabilities
- Develop and oversee the annual audit plan
- Supervise audit execution across the Group
- Ensure high audit quality and methodological rigor
- Identify structural weaknesses and root causes
- Provide actionable recommendations for improvement
- Ensure follow-up on audit findings
- Monitor implementation of corrective actions
- Escalate unresolved issues
- Advise senior management on significant risks
- Establish strong, trust-based relationships
- Support management in strengthening internal controls
- Strengthen risk management, compliance, and governance
- Travel frequently to decentralized locations
