- Establish novel methods for designing and operating particle accelerators
- Develop new concepts for future accelerators
- Ensure efficient autonomous operation of existing accelerators
- Implement innovative methods for operating accelerators in nonequilibrium states
- Create accelerator designs with reduced size and improved stability
- Enhance cost and energy efficiency of existing and novel systems
- Diagnose and control instabilities in accelerators in real-time
- Demonstrate research results at the Accelerator Technology Platform test facilities
- Lead a working group on autonomous particle accelerators at IBPT
- Participate in program-oriented funding from the Helmholtz Association
- Research new accelerator technologies and electron beam control methods
- Collaborate with colleagues in physics, electrical engineering, and computer science
- Raise third-party funding from national and international sources
- Support the transfer of scientific results into practical applications
- Participate in teaching courses, special lectures, and export lectures
- Execute large-scale research tasks with a teaching obligation of 6 hours per week per semester
