- Define and execute the technical vision across all projects
- Ensure games use robust, scalable, and efficient foundations
- Drive innovation and foster cross-departmental collaboration
- Align technological strategies with creative and business goals
- Manage the department budget and financial reporting
- Plan resources and forecast departmental investments
- Implement technical visions for future games
- Maintain quality standards for Engine Development and pipelines
- Integrate creative and technical workflows with leadership
- Adopt new technologies and Unreal Engine innovations
- Refine technical pipelines and toolsets for efficiency
- Mentor and coach Leads, Principals, and Experts
- Promote a culture of innovation and open communication
- Coordinate interdepartmental decisions on production-critical topics
- Ensure financial and production goals are achieved
- Supervise and evaluate department Leads
- Conduct 1:1s and feedback sessions with senior staff
- Optimize processes and standardize development workflows
- Establish quality assurance frameworks
- Assess technical feasibility of creative goals
- Represent the department in management meetings
- Communicate progress, risks, and resource needs to leadership
