Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience designing cryogenic mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of heat transfer and structural analysis on cryogenic systems
  • Experience with CAD tools and FEA software
  • Experience with cryogenic systems or superconducting technologies
  • Familiarity with pressure vessel design and safety standards
  • Familiarity with cleanroom assembly requirements
  • Background in scientific instrumentation or large research projects
  • Design and construction of cryostats
  • Knowledge and application of cryogenic heat transfer and insulation techniques
  • Design and analysis of mechanical structures
  • Knowledge and application of RF techniques
  • Teamwork skills and active participation
  • Accountability for own actions and decisions
  • Initiative and proactivity in tasks
  • Innovative thinking and knowledge sharing
  • Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities

Tasks

  • Design and integrate SRF cavities and systems
  • Lead cryomodule assembly processes in clean-room and outside
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams at CERN and partner labs
  • Lead cryogenic engineering activities, including thermal performance and safety
  • Ensure mechanical designs meet safety and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate design, prototyping, and testing with engineering teams
  • Monitor progress and share results through reports and presentations
