Subsystem Engineer – Data Systems, Operations & Advanced Networking Testbeds(m/w/x)

Requirements
- Graduation in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience and interest in System Engineering
- Experience and interest in Networking
- Experience and interest in Embedded Systems
- Experience and interest in Ground Systems
- Strong Linux expertise (preferably SLES)
- Familiarity with high-availability services
- Solid programming background in C/C++
- Solid programming background in Java
- Scripting skills (Bash, Python)
- Experience with networking concepts and protocols
- Understanding of hardware/software interfaces
- Understanding of system-level debugging
- Hands-on troubleshooting mindset
- Previous experience with CCSDS and Satcom standards
- Knowledge in CCSDS and Satcom protocols and specifications
- Knowledge in CCSDS O3K, ESTOL, DTN, Space Packet, CADU
- Experience with performance-critical systems
- Experience with low-latency systems
- Experience with testbeds
- Experience with protocol benchmarking
- Exposure to SatCom operations
- Exposure to experimental networking
- Exposure to research-driven prototyping
- Bridging operational systems with R&D
- Bridging operational systems with future-oriented technology validation
- Software design and development
- Algorithm development
Tasks
- Operate and maintain Data Services System (DaSS)
- Ensure high availability, performance, and robustness in 24/7 environment
- Monitor system behavior and diagnose complex faults
- Perform root cause analysis for stable and reliable operations
- Design and implement SatCom networking testbeds
- Validate emerging technologies and high-rate data transfer protocols
- Evaluate and prototype advanced communication technologies
- Experiment with optical communications, DTN concepts, and CCSDS-based protocols
- Develop automation tools and scripts (Bash, Python, Java, C/C++)
- Support operations, monitoring, testing, and performance analysis
- Collaborate with external partners on system integration
- Maintain technical documentation
- Contribute to knowledge sharing within Ground Control Team
