Requirements

  • Studies in chemical engineering, process engineering, chemistry, environmental engineering, or comparable field
  • Experience with heterogeneous catalyzed reactors
  • Basic laboratory experience
  • Solid knowledge in process engineering and reaction engineering
  • Experience with MATLAB or comparable simulation platforms
  • Good MS Office skills
  • Team contribution and goal achievement
  • Independent and high-quality task completion
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Good English skills, written and spoken

Tasks

  • Conduct a literature review on catalytic dimethyl ether steam reforming
  • Focus on methanol steam reforming and its side reactions
  • Identify and compare existing kinetic models
  • Integrate kinetic models into a MATLAB-based simulation platform
  • Perform numerical investigations of the models
  • Analyze results for plausibility and sensitivity
  • Conduct sensitivity analyses of the models
  • Validate results using experimental and literature data
  • Optimize the simulation model
