Structure Design Engineer(m/w/x)
Designing satellite structural components and assemblies with Siemens NX. Minimum 3 years of space industry structural design experience required. Hybrid work, 30 days vacation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years hands-on structural design experience, preferably space industry
- Proficiency with CAD tools (Siemens NX preferred)
- Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Solid background in manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, turning)
- Familiarity with structural analysis tools (FEM software like NASTRAN, Optistruct, Simsolid, Inspire, or similar) is a plus
- Experience designing for space applications (e.g., satellite subsystems, launch environments, vibration and thermal considerations) is highly advantageous
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
Tasks
- Design structural components and assemblies
- Generate detailed 3D models
- Create production-ready drawings using CAD software
- Develop and maintain design documentation
- Prepare specifications and analysis reports
- Create design review materials
- Support mechanical and structural testing
- Verify and validate designs
- Collaborate with thermal, systems, electrical, and integration engineers
- Ensure seamless system-level functionality
- Interface with suppliers and customers
- Ensure manufacturability and compliance
- Facilitate smooth integration
- Apply GD&T practices
- Implement Design for Manufacturing principles
