Sr. Facilities Technician (with EHS Support)(m/w/x)
Performing planned maintenance and reactive repairs across German facilities, including hazard identification and contractor management. Vocational training and 3+ years' experience in building services required. Company vehicle for travel, 30 days annual leave.
Requirements
- Vocational training in relevant trade/technical discipline (e.g. electrical, HVAC, building services, mechatronics) – Gesellenbrief or equivalent
- Valid first aid certificate or willingness to obtain
- Certificate of competence/training in relevant DGUV regulations (e.g. DGUV Vorschrift 3)
- Full German driving licence (Klasse B)
- Minimum 3 years experience in facilities maintenance, building services, or technical services role, ideally within commercial/industrial environment
- Practical experience of carrying out/documenting risk assessments and workplace inspections in compliance with German H&S law
- Experience managing contractors on site, including issuing permits to work and supervising third-party maintenance
- Demonstrable knowledge of German workplace safety regulations and DGUV standards
- Strong practical and technical problem-solving skills; able to diagnose faults and implement solutions
- Good understanding of German EHS legislation and commitment to safe/compliant workplace
- Fluent German (written and spoken); working proficiency in English
- Organised and methodical approach to record-keeping, maintenance scheduling, and compliance documentation
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with high degree of autonomy
- Good interpersonal skills; approachable and effective in communicating safety matters
- Competent IT user: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); comfortable using digital maintenance and EHS reporting systems
- Legal eligibility to work in a firearms environment (for some roles)
Tasks
- Perform planned preventive maintenance tasks
- Conduct reactive maintenance across German premises
- Inspect sites regularly to identify defects and hazards
- Log findings and take prompt corrective action
- Manage relationships with local contractors and service providers
- Supervise on-site contractor activities
- Coordinate servicing and statutory inspections of building systems
- Manage receipt, storage, and distribution of facilities supplies
- Support space planning and minor refurbishment projects
- Monitor and report on utility consumption
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
- Ensure communal areas and facilities are clean and presentable
