Spacecraft Operations Engineer for LEO and/or GEO satellites(m/w/x)
Monitoring daily spacecraft operations and subsystem health for LEO/GEO satellites. Spacecraft operations and ground segment experience required. 24/7 on-call service, inclusive employer.
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent experience
- Spacecraft operations experience (LEO/GEO, spinning/3-axis stabilized)
- Spacecraft operations preparation experience (LEO/GEO)
- Satellite performance monitoring and reporting experience
- Satellite ground segment facilities operation/development experience
- SCOS 2000 experience
- APEX operations procedures preparation/execution tool experience
- LEOP and commissioning phases experience
- Space system and operational concepts specification
- Familiarity with On-Board Control Procedure concepts
- Familiarity with ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard
- Familiarity with system change control and configuration management
- Data analysis software packages and programming skills (Python/Java)
- VBA for MS Office tools development
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly
- EU citizen or eligible for German work permit
Tasks
- Ensure proper in-flight spacecraft operations
- Provide 24/7 on-call service
- Perform mission planning checks
- Monitor daily operations during on-call periods
- Check and report on subsystem health and performance
- Use TM Propagator and CHART for analysis
- Contribute to in-orbit anomaly investigations
- Develop and maintain operational baseline
- Participate in spacecraft routine support service activities
- Participate in rehearsals
- Prepare Annual Performance Reports
- Raise and resolve Anomaly Reports
- Assist with APEX procedure configuration tracking
- Contribute to spacecraft simulator development and maintenance
- Finalize and validate re-orbiting and decommissioning activities
- Liaise with Flight Dynamics and other subsystem experts
- Review and maintain operational guides and documents
- Prepare new manual and automated procedures
- Validate TM/TC and event displays
- Contribute to space segment and system reviews
- Ensure proper spacecraft operations preparation
- Interface with other satellite teams
- Review and accept operational deliverables from industry
- Verify and validate operational data units
- Contribute to SATSIM tool development and use
- Prepare and execute operational validation campaigns
- Contribute to SSVT preparation activities
- Deliver SSVT documentation
- Contribute to SSVT execution
- Prepare for LEOP and interface with spacecraft system team
- Develop engineering Off-Line tools
- Produce and maintain supporting documentation
- Define and maintain Procedures Production Rules
- Develop and deliver Operations training
