- Degree in CS, engineering, or similar
- Proven strategic technical leadership across multiple teams
- Strong background in scalable systems, integration, DevSecOps
- Experience with large-scale modernization
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Experience in regulated environments (MDR, FDA, GDPR)
- Background in medical device software
- Creates alignment without micromanaging
- Brings clarity to complex transformations
- Empowers Tech Leads, avoids bottleneck
Tasks
- Set strategic technical direction
- Own target architecture and modernization roadmap
- Define decomposition strategy, rebuild vs. refactor
- Enable Tech Leads
- Align architectural decisions across teams
- Act as escalation point and facilitator
- Provide context, constraints, and strategic guardrails
- Bridge business and technology
- Translate product roadmap into technical enablers
- Surface constraints early and support prioritization
- Clarify architectural dependencies
- Represent the product technically
- Participate in DHS Architecture Board
- Communicate architectural decisions to leadership
- Ensure sustainable modernization and regulatory compliance
- Drive platform-level, cross-team architectural decisions
- Maintain ADRs
- Lead threat modeling
- Support regulatory and cybersecurity requirements
