Software Test Engineer – System Verification(m/w/x)
Verifying complex medical software, including AI features, for safe integration in a regulated environment. 5+ years system verification experience required. Trust-based flexible working hours, supplementary pension.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical/Medical Engineering, Software Engineering, Engineering, or comparable technical field
- 5+ years professional experience in software test engineering, focus on system-level verification
- Extensive experience in requirements-based and risk-based verification
- Hands-on experience verifying end-to-end system behavior
- Experience in agile, cross-functional teams
- Experience testing complex systems with databases, networks, and interfaces
- Knowledge of hospital IT environments and standards (DICOM, HL7); familiarity with FHIR is advantageous
- Experience designing and maintaining system-level automated and regression tests
- ISTQB certification or comparable testing/quality certification is a plus
- Highly structured, analytical, and independent working style
- Strong drive to continuously improve verification strategies, processes, and tooling
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluent English and German
Tasks
- Verify complex medical software in a regulated environment
- Test AI-based product features for safe and reliable integration
- Apply requirements- and risk-based verification strategies
- Assess impact of AI-related changes
- Ensure traceability and regulatory compliance
- Focus on end-to-end system behavior and clinical workflows
- Design and execute verification activities for medical software
- Contribute to AI model validation and testing
- Prepare AI model validation datasets
- Perform comprehensive testing (functional, performance, load, robustness, reliability)
- Verify system behavior, workflows, and interfaces
- Maintain traceability between requirements and test cases
- Assess and maintain verification activities throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with FDA and EU regulations
- Create and maintain regulatory-compliant verification documentation
- Collaborate with scrum master, product owner, software development, and quality teams
- Design, implement, and maintain automated system and regression tests
- Set up and maintain test environments
- Drive verification efficiency and coverage through test automation
