Software Test Engineer – System Verification(m/w/x)
AI product validation and testing for health technology systems. Requirements-based and risk-based verification experience required. International environment, versatile tasks.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical/Medical Engineering, Software Engineering, or comparable technical field
- 5+ years of professional experience in software test engineering, focus on system-level verification
- Extensive experience in requirements-based and risk-based verification, including traceability
- Hands-on experience verifying end-to-end system behavior, workflows, interfaces, and component interactions
- Experience in agile, cross-functional teams, collaborating with scrum master, product owner, development, and quality roles
- Experience testing complex systems involving databases, networks, and external system interfaces
- Knowledge of hospital IT environments and standards like DICOM or HL7; familiarity with FHIR is an advantage
- Experience designing and maintaining system-level automated and regression tests
- ISTQB certification or comparable testing/quality certification (plus)
- Highly structured, analytical, and independent working style; responsibility for verification quality and completeness
- Strong drive to continuously improve verification strategies, processes, and tooling in a regulated software environment
- Excellent communication skills for alignment with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluent in English and German
Tasks
- Design and execute requirements-based verification activities
- Contribute to AI product validation and testing
- Prepare AI model validation datasets
- Perform comprehensive testing (functional, performance, load, robustness, reliability)
- Verify end-to-end system behavior and workflows
- Ensure traceability between requirements and verification evidence
- Assess impact of changes and maintain verification activities
- Comply with FDA and EU regulations (MDR, IEC 62304, ISO 13485)
- Create and maintain regulatory-compliant verification documentation
- Collaborate with scrum master, product owner, software development, and quality teams
- Design and implement automated system and regression tests
- Maintain test environments for verification and validation
- Drive verification efficiency and coverage through test automation
