Requirements

  • Software Engineering expertise
  • Background and interest in mission control systems
  • Strong C++ and/or Java development experience
  • Hands-on Unix/Linux environments experience
  • Software bug analysis, debugging, and issue resolution experience
  • Familiarity with SCOS-based Mission Control Systems (MCS)
  • GitLab CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices experience
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Previous experience/knowledge in EGS-CC and/or Pulse Mission Control frameworks
  • Knowledge of Eclipse RCP-based development environments
  • Familiarity with UML for software design and system modeling

Tasks

  • Analyze operational needs from space mission stakeholders
  • Translate needs into clear, implementable software requirements
  • Design complex mission control software systems
  • Develop and maintain mission control software for operational use
  • Apply object-oriented programming principles in C++ or Java
  • Collaborate with international teams and customers
  • Support different space missions and operational approaches
  • Continuously learn mission operations concepts
  • Contribute to evolving system architectures across projects
  • Test software to ensure reliability and performance
