Description

In this role, you will lead research and design efforts to create user-centered experiences, collaborating with cross-functional teams to simplify complex workflows and enhance data accessibility. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include facilitating user research, designing intuitive interfaces, and mentoring junior designers while integrating UX and information architecture into agile processes.

Requirements

• •3+ years of UX design and/or IA experience
• •Proven experience leading user research
• •Strong understanding of taxonomy and metadata
• •Proficiency with prototyping and architecture mapping
• •Working knowledge of Section 508/WCAG standards
• •Experience supporting agile software delivery teams
• •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX Design or related field
• •Familiarity with AI tools and data platforms

Tasks

• •Facilitate stakeholder interviews and discovery workshops
• •Conduct content audits to uncover user needs and workflows
• •Define and document user and system requirements
• •Map current-state user journeys and metadata structures
• •Identify opportunities to normalize terms and clarify page purpose
• •Create wireframes and interactive prototypes for complex workflows
• •Develop annotated specifications for data-heavy applications
• •Partner with developers to ensure usability and accessibility standards
• •Facilitate usability testing and iterate on designs
• •Promote plain language and inclusive design practices
• •Define taxonomies and controlled vocabularies for data retrieval
• •Build content models and lightweight ontologies for workflows
• •Collaborate with teams to integrate metadata into data catalogs
• •Document IA deliverables like labeling schemes and content governance plans
• •Work within agile teams to incorporate design and IA artifacts
• •Participate in sprint ceremonies and backlog refinement
• •Support design reviews balancing usability and technical feasibility
• •Help define evaluation criteria for UX and IA success metrics
• •Mentor junior designers on best practices
• •Develop reusable IA templates and design systems
• •Contribute to workshops educating stakeholders on IA value
• •Participate in continuous improvement efforts for model tuning
