Senior Software Engineer, Platform(m/w/x)

Requirements

• 3+ years Linux-based embedded or robotics experience
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
• Experience with ROS 1 or ROS 2
• Knowledge of DDS internals and QoS tuning
• Real-time performance tuning and profiling skills
• Experience with Git and Docker/OCI containers
• Prior work on safety-critical robotic systems
• Experience with ptp4l configurations
• Familiarity with common communication protocols
• Experience with v4l2 or gstreamer
• Deep knowledge of Ubuntu or Linux
• Experience with Nvidia Orin/Jetson platforms
• Experience with Yocto
• Linux kernel customization for real-time patches
• Familiarity with GPU acceleration frameworks
• Experience integrating functional safety libraries
• Experience with kernel modules and drivers
• Adaptability to fast-paced startup environments

Tasks

• Design and maintain custom Ubuntu distributions for autonomous vehicles
• Optimize ROS 2 middleware for high-throughput sensor data
• Develop drivers for LiDAR, cameras, and vehicle interfaces
• Maintain and expand system network interfaces
• Implement observability solutions to monitor system health
• Profile CPU/GPU usage to remove performance bottlenecks
• Harden platform security with patches and secure boot
• Implement over-the-air update pipelines for production
• Automate CI/CD pipelines for OS and driver packages
• Provide on-call support during field trials and pilots
• Create technical documentation and best-practice guidelines
