Senior Software Engineer - Geometry(m/w/x)
Automated geometric calibration for hundreds of imaging satellites, characterizing system performance. 10+ years industry experience with statistical processing of large measurement data required. Work on largest constellation of imaging satellites.
Requirements
- 10+ years industry experience statistical processing/analysis large measurement data
- Bachelor’s in Photogrammetry, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
- Hands-on, can-do attitude, great interpersonal skills, collaboration ability
- Understanding end-to-end image processing chain
- Passion for Programming, Photography, Remote Sensing, Earth Sciences, Geography
- Extensive scientific computing experience using Python Unix/Linux
- Knowledge scaling code with cloud computing resources (AWS/GCP)
- Practical experience solving problems with large cloud-based datasets
- 5+ years remote sensing experience, software automation imagery/maps analysis
- Master’s or PhD in scientific/engineering field
- Hands-on experience calibrating/operating high-resolution optical satellites
- Familiarity design/construction imaging/capture/camera hardware
- Active contribution to open source projects
- Ability to access U.S. and German/EU export-controlled information
Tasks
- Perform ongoing space imaging operations
- Conduct geometric calibration activities
- Characterize system performance
- Design and implement automated scalable calibration processes
- Calibrate hundreds of satellites
- Ensure products meet specifications and SLAs
- Develop performance models collaboratively
- Develop error budgets collaboratively
- Develop calibration concepts for new very high-res constellations
- Troubleshoot geometric image quality issues
- Develop long-term mitigations and fixes
