Senior Navigation Engineer(m/w/x)

Requirements
- M.S. in Robotics, Aerospace engineering, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics
- Multiyear professional experience in navigation and/or sensor fusion for robotics or UAVs
- Strong theoretical and practical expertise in estimation and filtering techniques
- Solid understanding of fixed wing and multirotor flight dynamics and flight mechanics
- Ability to take ownership in complex systems independently
- Ability to quickly understand and extend complex systems and codebases
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python/C++/Rust
- Fluent written and spoken English
Tasks
- Conceptualize and design GNSS/INS navigation algorithms
- Implement and validate state estimation and sensor fusion
- Handle faults in navigation algorithms
- Analyze real flight data to diagnose issues
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement improvements
- Refactor and generalize navigation modules
- Participate in full system development lifecycle
- Lead technical discussions and contribute to architecture
- Conduct design reviews and define interfaces
- Create and maintain system documentation
- Collaborate with flight control and embedded software engineers
- Work with systems and test engineers
- Improve navigation performance through sensor characterization
- Calibrate sensors for better performance
- Drive technical decisions in the navigation domain
- Support code reviews and mentor team members
