Researching algorithms for image and video compression and signal processing at global ICT solutions provider, participating in international standardization. PhD in relevant field and knowledge of color representation/HDR-TV formats required. Language courses in German and Mandarin.

Requirements

  • PhD in electrical engineering, information technology, computer science, mathematics, or physics
  • Deep interest and proven record in scientific research related to video compression and artificial intelligence
  • Knowledge in color representation formats (YUV, XYZ, HVS, LAB) and HDR-TV formats (PQ, HLG, BT2020/BT2100)
  • Understanding of basic principles of CNN structure and training
  • Enjoyment of teamwork and collaboration with researchers
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Good understanding of visual quality metrics
  • Excellent software skills (C/C++, Python, Pytorch, Tensorflow, Matlab)

Tasks

  • Research innovative algorithms for image and video compression
  • Investigate algorithms for image and video signal processing
  • Participate in international standardization efforts
  • Promote Huawei's technologies to standardization bodies
  • Explore innovative algorithms in artificial intelligence
  • Implement algorithms into reference software and conduct tests
  • Generate technical papers, reports, and patents
