Requirements

  • 6+ years backend engineering experience, 2+ senior level
  • Strong Kotlin or Java proficiency
  • Relational databases (MySQL or similar)
  • At least one public cloud in production (AWS preferred)
  • Distributed systems thinking (idempotency, retries, eventual consistency, observability)
  • Business fluent English
  • German B1 or commitment to achieve
  • Micronaut experience
  • Kubernetes experience
  • AWS Bedrock experience
  • LiteLLM experience
  • Claude Agent SDK experience
  • MCP-based architecture experience
  • Experience with regulated data environments (GDPR, BaFin, §203 StGB)

Tasks

  • Design and run Kotlin/Java services with Micronaut on AWS
  • Integrate LLM capabilities into product flows
  • Harden production systems and improve observability
  • Shape testing, deployment, and observability practices
  • Own scalable backend services from development to production
  • Build and maintain high-performance, secure infrastructure
  • Implement suggestion APIs, RAG-backed endpoints, and agent tool calls
  • Collaborate with frontend, product, and AI teams
  • Design APIs for long-term use and reliability
  • Manage schema migrations and breaking changes
  • Upgrade dependencies with careful consideration
  • Implement automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end)
  • Advocate for meaningful architectural improvements
  • Lead incident investigations and write postmortems
