Requirements
- •Minimum of ten years of experience in Compliance related activities or a related field in aerospace and defense
- •Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Law, Business, Engineering or similar)
- •Significant experience as an Export Control Officer
- •Strong knowledge of Außenwirtschaftsgesetz (AWG), Kriegswaffenkontrollgesetz (KWKG), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- •Experience navigating BAFA’s ELAN-K2 portal
- •Proficiency in developing and leveraging relationships with Bombardier customers, suppliers, and partners
- •Advanced knowledge of applications such as SAP, Salesforce, Excel, Sharepoint
- •Proficiency in analyzing large amounts of data and synthesizing it into meaningful information
- •Thorough knowledge of aviation compliance requirements in export controls and sanctions
- •Willingness to join the board of directors of a Bombardier subsidiary in Germany and accept personal responsibility for export control compliance
- •Fluency in German and English
- •Knowledge of export control regulations outside of the EU is an advantage
- •Proficiency with trade compliance software and application of export control regulations to IT systems
- •Effective management skills
- •Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to synthesize information for executive level briefings
- •Ability to interpret complex regulations and contract terms

- •Assist with U.S., Canadian, and UK export control regulations
- •Oversee export control compliance for aircraft parts and maintenance services
- •Provide guidance to export control officials at various sites
- •Offer export control guidance to internal teams
- •Develop and improve the Internal Compliance Program (ICP)
- •Identify requirements for policies and procedures for compliance
- •Oversee export control licensing submissions to agencies
- •Handle export licensing authorizations and approvals
- •Communicate with BAFA and other EU export control agencies
- •Approve transactions using Exemptions and Exceptions
- •Develop and present export-related training
- •Issue communications on export control issues and updates
- •Apply and maintain export licenses and agreements
- •Conduct regular internal audits for compliance
- •Review denied party screening with export control specialists
- •Stay updated on changes to export control regulations
- •Determine export classification of hardware, software, and technology
