Requirements
- Deep expertise in security domains (application, cloud, IAM, crypto, detection/response, platform)
- Thinking in terms of trust boundaries, failure modes, blast radius, adversarial behaviour
- Translating complex security risk to non-security stakeholders
- Risk-based security mindset, proportionate decisions under uncertainty
- Experience working across multiple teams and technical domains
- Identifying gaps and driving security improvements to resolution
- Experience in regulated, high-assurance, or defence-adjacent environments
- Hands-on offensive security experience (red teaming, pen testing, adversarial simulation)
- Familiarity with AI/ML security considerations (model integrity, data pipeline, adversarial ML)
- Experience designing/contributing to security programmes at scale
- Cloud-native security engineering experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Exposure to supply chain security concerns
- Experience in environments with classified data or government security frameworks
Tasks
- Identify, assess, and prioritize security risks
- Distinguish theoretical concerns from material threats
- Design and implement security controls
- Guide engineering teams on security controls
- Develop and apply threat models
- Surface architectural risks and trust boundary issues
- Partner with teams as a security advisor
- Provide security patterns and guidance
- Contribute to incident detection and containment
- Drive systemic improvements from incident learnings
- Build automation to reduce manual security work
- Improve tooling for security processes
- Embed secure-by-default practices
- Bring technical depth to assurance activities
- Ensure controls are real and effective
