Requirements

  • •Degree in physics, electrical engineering, or equivalent disciplines
  • •Knowledge and experience in simulation techniques and programs for modeling modal structures and thermal effects in fibers
  • •Knowledge and experience in fiber preform manufacturing or fiber drawing
  • •Basic knowledge in fiber lasers

Master's degree

Work Experience

approx. 1 - 4 years

Tasks

  • •Develop and optimize fiber components for high-power fiber laser architectures
  • •Investigate designs in fluoride and silica material systems
  • •Calculate and simulate fiber components for multi-clad and polarization-maintaining fibers
  • •Optimize pump couplers, wavelength-division multiplexers, filters, and mode-field adapters
  • •Contribute to scientific investigations of various fiber laser architectures
  • •Work independently on fiber design and structure research projects
  • •Write reports and publications in English and, if possible, German
