Requirements

  • Master’s degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, or comparable field
  • Specialization in pharmaceutical technology (ideal)
  • Several years of relevant professional experience
  • PhD in pharmaceutical technology (advantageous)
  • Sound knowledge of intravitreal drug delivery formulations (advantageous)
  • Practical experience in manufacture of intravitreal drug delivery formulations (ideal)
  • In-depth expertise in fundamental pharmaceutical unit operations
  • Expertise in parenteral products manufacturing
  • Familiarity with modern product-characterization analytical techniques (desirable)
  • Hands-on experience in melt extrusion (strong advantage)
  • Hands-on experience in polymer-based extended-release systems (strong advantage)
  • High scientific competence

Tasks

  • Contribute to CMC development of parenteral drug products
  • Focus on formulation and analytics for early-stage IVT delivery systems
  • Design scientific technology and innovation projects for IVT applications
  • Execute scientific technology and innovation projects experimentally
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external partners
  • Take on functional leadership of a CMC deliverable or sub-team
  • Manage defined work packages from planning through execution
  • Develop formulation and process development concepts
  • Document formulation and process development concepts
  • Lead scientific and technical staff
  • Support supervision of interns, PhD candidates, and postdocs
  • Research and evaluate current scientific literature
  • Identify potential new applications
  • Present relevant insights within the IVT Development group
