Satellite Ground System Engineer Mission Control(m/w/x)
Defining architecture for satellite control and monitoring, configuring mission control components at aerospace manufacturer. Knowledge of space industry standards (ECSS, CCSDS) required. Home office option, flexible hours.
Requirements
- Completed university degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Communications (Network), or equivalent qualification
- More than 5 years of professional experience in relevant fields
- Knowledge and practical experience in processes and standards of the space industry (e.g., ECSS, CCSDS)
- Experience in systems engineering and corresponding methods and tools
- Interest and ability to quickly familiarize oneself with new technologies
- Experience working on classified projects (an advantage)
- Experience in managing technical stakeholders (an advantage)
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Team-oriented work style
- Fluent in German and English
- French language skills (a plus)
Tasks
- Define architecture for satellite control and monitoring
- Specify and integrate hardware and software components
- Configure mission control components
- Analyze requirements and define architecture for ground segments
- Evaluate design trade-offs and manage interfaces
- Create interface documents (ICD)
- Specify hardware and software elements and redundancy concepts
- Support the definition of ground segment operating concepts
- Train satellite operators
- Estimate costs for ground segment development and operation
- Assist in system development, assembly, integration, and verification
- Contribute to proposals, studies, and research activities
- Manage procurement of software components
- Collaborate with Space Segment Engineering, Performance Engineering, and Operations Engineering
