Robotics Test Engineer - Quality & Safety(m/w/x)

Description

You will ensure the safety of robotic systems by designing complex HIL tests and validating ROS 2 interfaces, playing a vital role in bridging the gap between software and physical hardware.

Requirements

• •Degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field
• •Experience testing robotics software, ideally ROS 2
• •Understanding of unit, integration, and system testing
• •Proficiency with C++, Python, and Linux development
• •Experience with gTest/gMock and mocking APIs
• •Ability to work safely around robotic hardware
• •Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented mindset
• •Experience with Git and collaborative workflows
• •Experience testing control systems or robotic manipulators
• •Familiarity with ROS 2 hardware interface concepts
• •Exposure to real-time systems or control APIs
• •Experience with CI/CD and simulation tools

Tasks

• •Develop scalable robotics software test plans
• •Design unit, integration, and HIL tests
• •Validate ROS 2 and C-based API translations
• •Build mock environments using gTest and gMock
• •Isolate and test ROS 2 communication protocols
• •Execute integration tests in simulation and hardware
• •Verify state reporting and error-handling mechanisms
• •Test ROS 2 hardware and command interfaces
• •Conduct structured SIL and HIL validation
• •Develop automated scripts and custom test tools
• •Perform stability and fault-injection experiments
• •Document results and resolve system issues
• •Refine workflows to improve software coverage
