Requirements
- Master’s degree in engineering, natural sciences, or environmental sciences
- Completed PhD
- Several years of experience in sustainability
- Several years of experience in life cycle assessment (LCA)
- Several years of experience in life cycle costing (LCC)
- Several years of experience in social LCA (S-LCA)
- Initial experience in assessing toxicological aspects
- Knowledge of energy technologies
- Knowledge of chemical processes
- Knowledge of raw material extraction
- Knowledge of battery recycling
- Knowledge of toxicology
Tasks
- Conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) for battery recycling processes
- Compare primary and recycled raw materials for sustainability
- Develop toxicity screening for battery materials at early TRL
- Validate toxicity screening against EU SSbD requirements
- Develop and test sustainability assessment methods at early TRL
- Incorporate MCDA approach into sustainability assessments
- Consider raw material criticality, costs, and carbon footprint
- Include toxicological aspects in sustainability assessments
- Perform prospective LCAs of new battery materials
- Prepare interim and final research project reports
- Coordinate interim and final research project reports
