Atomistic simulation of materials for micro- and nanotechnologies using molecular dynamics and DFT. Experience with workflow tools or AI-driven material science required. 30 vacation days, special annual payment.
Requirements
- University degree (M.Sc. or higher) in physics, material science, engineering or related fields
- Previous experience in atomistic or electronic structure modelling
- Background knowledge in semiconductor or nanotechnologies
- Experience with workflow tools or AI-driven material science
- Experience in high performance computing using Linux systems
- Very solid programming skills (Python and/or similar)
- Effective team player with structured, focused, and independent working style
- Excellent English language skills
- Basic German skills
Tasks
- Conduct independent research using molecular dynamics and density functional theory
- Investigate application-related research questions on material properties and surface processes
- Develop automated, efficient, and reusable calculation workflows
- Collaborate with group members, colleagues, and external partners
- Present research findings at conferences and internal meetings
- Publish scientific results in journals and project documentation
- Secure new public and industry-funded projects
