Requirements

  • University degree (M.Sc. or higher) in physics, material science, engineering or related fields
  • Previous experience in atomistic or electronic structure modelling
  • Background knowledge in semiconductor or nanotechnologies
  • Experience with workflow tools or AI-driven material science
  • Experience in high performance computing using Linux systems
  • Very solid programming skills (Python and/or similar)
  • Effective team player with structured, focused, and independent working style
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Basic German skills

Tasks

  • Conduct independent research using molecular dynamics and density functional theory
  • Investigate application-related research questions on material properties and surface processes
  • Develop automated, efficient, and reusable calculation workflows
  • Collaborate with group members, colleagues, and external partners
  • Present research findings at conferences and internal meetings
  • Publish scientific results in journals and project documentation
  • Secure new public and industry-funded projects
