Requirements

  • •MSc degree in physics, materials science, or related discipline
  • •Basic knowledge of programming in Python
  • •Self-management and active collaboration in a team
  • •Good knowledge of English; basic knowledge of German beneficial
  • •Hands-on experience in single-crystal X-ray diffraction
  • •Experience in the usage of synchrotron radiation
  • •Electrical measurements and electrical circuitry
  • •Education in crystallography

Education

Master's degree

Vocational certification

Tasks

  • •Characterize the structure of single-crystals under time-dependent electric fields
  • •Conduct time- and field-dependent X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements in IKZ labs and synchrotron radiation sources
  • •Perform spatially resolved characterization on the microscale to analyze domain walls' influence on elastic strain and polarization fields
  • •Utilize laser interferometry and piezo-force microscopy (PFM) for complementary characterization at IKZ
  • •Execute electrical measurements as part of the characterization process
  • •Engage in regular scientific exchanges with Tel-Aviv University and TU Bergakademie Freiberg
  • •Participate in joint (virtual) meetings and experiments at synchrotron sources
